Retirement

All employees participate in the State Universities Retirement System and are governed by the rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Trustees of the State University Retirement System. Employees contribute 8% of their annual salary; employer contribution is dependent upon the plan chosen by the employee.

All full-time employees will contribute .5% of their gross salary towards this benefit that is provided through the State Universities Retirement System. The college will match this amount.

Sick Leave

Each full-time teaching faculty member on a nine (9) month contract shall be granted twelve (12) days of sick leave at the beginning of each academic year. Faculty members on a nine (9) month contract who teach in the summer semester will be entitled to additional sick leave days. Please refer to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement for more details. Sick leave days may be accumulated but will not be reimbursed at termination or retirement.

Personal Days

Each full-time faculty member on a (9) month contract will be granted two (2) personal days per fiscal year. Personal leave will only be awarded with the prior approval of the employee鈥檚 supervisor. Personal leave days do not accumulate. Unused personal leave days will be added to sick leave time each July 1.

Bereavement Leave

A faculty member will be granted up to five (5) day bereavement leave for the death in the family of an employee. Family is defined as parent, sister, brother, spouse, child, parent-in-law, or anyone regularly residing with an employee. One (1) day bereavement leave will be allowed for the death of a grandparent, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, uncle, aunt, grandchild, son-in-law or daughter-in-law, niece or nephew. When circumstances require additional time, the leave may be extended up to a maximum of an additional five (5) days with administrative approval. (Circumstances which would qualify for additional time are: distance to be traveled to funeral, necessity to be involved in funeral arrangements, and/or related arrangements).

Full-time administrative and professional/technical staff will receive twenty (20) days vacation per year. Employees must use vacation time in four (4) hour increments. College Tuition

Regular part-time employees who are employed for at least 15 hours per week on a continuous basis are eligible for a tuition waiver of two credit courses per semester. Individuals in 鈥渢emporary鈥 and part-time 鈥渟tudent employment鈥 classifications are not eligible. The courses for which the waiver is sought must have sufficient enrollments to run without the additional students enrolled as a result of this policy. Further, the additional enrollment shall not over-enroll the courses.
